One great tragedy in Christians and people

We are too preoccupied in avoiding sin that we fail to see the opportunities to do good.

This is one great tragedy I find in many Christians and people alike. We are too much into “avoiding sin.” Yeah I know that we must avoid sin. But isn’t this too much attention that we fail to do good to others, that God had commanded us to do? We fail to see the things that we could do because we are too much focused on avoiding sin. Truth is, there is one simple formula in avoiding sin in my opinion: be intimate with God. If we are very intimate with God and we love Him so much, then sin becomes just something. We will be tempted, but having our brains saturated with God’s Word will be the key factor in s avoiding sin. I don’t know if people agree with this but somehow this is one important key in avoiding sin. Now when we grow in our relationship with God, having adequate quiet time, reading God’s word, and praying minute by minute to God, then we grow close. But we are not yet mirrors of Christ likeness. It starts when we are doing good. And this is when people fail so much. Because we are so much into having ourselves weakened because of sin and guilt. We are already forgiven! Use that fact by displaying God’s love to the world, not using it as a license to sin. If you know you are forgiven, then concentrate and do good to others! Isn’t that what God wanted us to do? To love others? And how do we love others? Through our actions!

Initiative

–         The people who accomplish many things in life are the ones who are making initiative moves. If you make an initiative, you are the instigator of a movement that may ignite a wave that will make a change. Remember, our history’s heroes make initiative moves. Take for example Jonathan, son of King Saul. Didn’t he made an initiative to go to the Philistine camp with only his armor bearer while Saul was taking a nap? After going to battle because of the initiative, the whole army of Saul followed. In short, Jonathan instigated the start of the battle. Changers of the world are the ones who make an initiative.

The reason you have to be an initiator for God is that you WILL be compelled. God will make you go to the front lines if He’s called you and you choose to move for Him. You will be facing your fears and your giants. When you’ve chosen to live for God, being a sideliner is never an option and you will never be one.

God, our ever present helper (a simple devotion)

The Lord delights as we depend on Him like a child. When we have received the Spirit of the Lord, we are born again in the Spirit of the Lord. This means that we have a renewed life and the cross breaks our bonds with this world. That enables us to His plan”walk by the spirit” and “not fulfill the desires of the flesh.” We continue to walk by the spirit if we continually, moment-by-moment, put our faith that Jesus Christ is on the throne of our lives. We then put less emphasis on our sinful desires. But it is not a guarantee that we’ll always reject our sinful desires unless we love God and bear our own cross with Him. But walking by the spirit is directly counter cultural to the views of the world and bearing our cross with God will get us in opposite views and perspective to the people around us. This then appears that carrying the cross seems impossible. That’s why we carry our cross “with Him” and not alone. He is our ever-present helper and Father. Now how does a father love? A father willingly helps his children without any warning or cost or exchange. That’s why we come to God and depend on Him like a child. Because we are His sons! Then we experience how God’s love carries us through hardships and through our cross.

Business for God

Many people think that business is bad. But we can use our business for the glory of God! How? because business is about service. Many people think and do business to earn money and lots of money. well earning money is not bad, what we do with the money si the one in question. And if you are doing business for the sake of earning lots of money, then you are short changing yourself. There is more to life than making money. It will be left with us if we die and there is more to a business than making money. Business will be successful and be big if done for service to others. But we will always be burnt out in service if we are not intimate with God. If you are startign a business, aligned your goals in your business with God’s goals for your life. Only then will you receive God’s blessing in your business. The one that put God as the center of their businesses receive blessings and also are the epicenter of God’s activity. Why? Because as business leaders, we have the capacity and the influence to a large number of people. If we use those to bring people to Christ, then we bring glory to God and focus in the Kingdom agenda. Business practices also call for no compromise practice in God’s Word. That’s doing business God’s way. We are given our business and circumstances so we could show God’s light to people, so glorify God in the business world!

Only one life by Charles Thomas Studd

Two little lines I heard one day, Traveling along life’s busy way;
Bringing conviction to my heart, And from my mind would not depart;
Only one life, ’twill soon be past, Only what’s done for Christ will last.

Only one life, yes only one, Soon will its fleeting hours be done;
Then, in ‘that day’ my Lord to meet, And stand before His Judgment seat;
Only one life,’ twill soon be past, Only what’s done for Christ will last.

Only one life, the still small voice, Gently pleads for a better choice
Bidding me selfish aims to leave, And to God’s holy will to cleave;
Only one life, ’twill soon be past, Only what’s done for Christ will last.

Only one life, a few brief years, Each with its burdens, hopes, and fears;
Each with its clays I must fulfill, living for self or in His will;
Only one life, ’twill soon be past, Only what’s done for Christ will last.

When this bright world would tempt me sore, When Satan would a victory score;
When self would seek to have its way, Then help me Lord with joy to say;
Only one life, ’twill soon be past, Only what’s done for Christ will last.

Give me Father, a purpose deep, In joy or sorrow Thy word to keep;
Faithful and true what e’er the strife, Pleasing Thee in my daily life;
Only one life, ’twill soon be past, Only what’s done for Christ will last.

Oh let my love with fervor burn, And from the world now let me turn;
Living for Thee, and Thee alone, Bringing Thee pleasure on Thy throne;
Only one life, “twill soon be past, Only what’s done for Christ will last.

Only one life, yes only one, Now let me say, “Thy will be done”;
And when at last I’ll hear the call, I know I’ll say ’twas worth it all”;
Only one life,’ twill soon be past, Only what’s done for Christ will last.

Path to greatness

Most people want to be great in a certain area. They want to be a great in their jobs, businesses, relationships, and appeal to people. Sure its good but how do we attain greatness? Most people relate the term success in their definition of greatness. But how come that some of the most successful people are not really that great? Look at Ernest hemingway. He has success but he killed himself in the end. Now is that great? I don’t think so!

There is only one path to greatness: humility in God. Humility is the onyl way to greatness. Why? Because the greatest man who ever lived became great that God placed Him on His right hand because of His humility. If the greatest man we had ever known (Jesus Christ) humb rlyemoved His privileges as God and died for us, wouldn’t it be logical that greatness is attained at humbly one’s self into humility? Philippians 2: 2-11 gives an exact account on how Jesus was exalted by God due to His humility. “Whoever exalts himself will be humbled and whoever humbles himself will be exalted” Matthew 23:12.

Humility also gives a beautiful impression and empowers those who are touched by it. If you are a leader but humbly serve your people by doing whatever it takes for your people and for the group’s goals, it gives an impression to your teammates that they can also do what it is that your are doing. Humility inspires to followers to greatness!

Remember, Lucifer was cast out of heaven due to his pride, which is the opposite of humility. Pride is the source of all evil. But other than watching out for the pride in us, why don’t we focus more on serving in humility. It takes time to humble oneself but the most important things in life can only be felt and experienced through humility. Its is better to do good than to avoid evil.

The only path to greatness is humility for God!

Prevention is better than cure but do we act upon it?

We have heard this addage many times, but the thing is, are we acting upon it? Actually I’m in the health care prevention business. And so far, prevention of diseases is what I’m focusing instead of curing them. Why? Because the investment you do in terms of health prevention is far less than suffering later through late investment in health when you’re sick or when you’re terminally ill. Also, many people are financially broke. And when you already have a disease or illness, you will be way over broke! Just compute on the medical facilities and professional fees that are going to be paid by you. If you have just took time and a few money for disease prevention, think how much you’ll be saving. But even if we do know about these, but we do not act upon these, then its a piece of trash. Knowledge is not power unless you act upon it people! What good does knowing prevention is better than cure going to be if you are not actually preventing the disease? epic fail.

One very familiar scene to my line of business is when I’m educating people about health prevention. Whenever I will be showing people that supplementation is necessary in preventing diseases and maintaing great and balanced nutrition for optimum health, people would agree. But, when I would be asking them what supplements they will be getting, they are backing down. Why? Because of the price! Come on, for a few money, you will prevent possible diseases and stress not only in your life but also with your family, and you’re back down from that? It might even cost you your life! People say they don’t have much money. Well think about how much money you have if you suddenly need to rush yourself in a hospital. See why people are not acting on this principle?

This principle is not only for illnesses but for everything. In a team, do we prevent misunderstanding by telling problems to the people straightforward or we stay put, think to ourselves, or gossip? “Better is open reubke than hidden love” (Proverbs 27:5). Are we doing it or not?

So, are we preventing things rather than cure things? Remember, calculate the risks and investments involved.

Choices

We all live in choices. It is a gift that cannot be taken away from us. Living life is a choice and existing in life is a choice, but those are two different paths. We may exist in life which is, well depends if its good or bad but its doesn’t really take effort. Well we all exist! Living life, on the other hand takes effort. Because once we choose to live life, it will certainly be an adventure! A real adventure!

So you have a choice: live life or exist in life. You can exist. Yeah but you’re going to sleep through the most important happenings in your life. If you choose to live life, it will take you into the front lines of moments you will never forget; moments that will make you live a purpose and an adventurous life. And we are all called and created for a life of purpose and mission.

Everything begins with our choices. Like I said, it is the one thing that cannot be taken from us. Choose to exist or live. If you’re gonna live, then decide if you’re gonna be living for yourself or you’re gonna be living for God. Afterall, the one with meaning is the life lived for God, while the life lived for one self is a life of misery and emptiness (see Ecclesiastes chapter 1).
