We are too preoccupied in avoiding sin that we fail to see the opportunities to do good.
This is one great tragedy I find in many Christians and people alike. We are too much into “avoiding sin.” Yeah I know that we must avoid sin. But isn’t this too much attention that we fail to do good to others, that God had commanded us to do? We fail to see the things that we could do because we are too much focused on avoiding sin. Truth is, there is one simple formula in avoiding sin in my opinion: be intimate with God. If we are very intimate with God and we love Him so much, then sin becomes just something. We will be tempted, but having our brains saturated with God’s Word will be the key factor in s avoiding sin. I don’t know if people agree with this but somehow this is one important key in avoiding sin. Now when we grow in our relationship with God, having adequate quiet time, reading God’s word, and praying minute by minute to God, then we grow close. But we are not yet mirrors of Christ likeness. It starts when we are doing good. And this is when people fail so much. Because we are so much into having ourselves weakened because of sin and guilt. We are already forgiven! Use that fact by displaying God’s love to the world, not using it as a license to sin. If you know you are forgiven, then concentrate and do good to others! Isn’t that what God wanted us to do? To love others? And how do we love others? Through our actions!
